Focusmed24, founded in 2008 by individuals with extensive and very relevant clinical backgrounds. Combined, their experience equates to more than 40 years of working in a variety of NHS, private sector and military hospitals across England, Wales and overseas.

This unique combination of experience ensured that from day one, Focusmed24 offered a professional and dedicated service offering nothing less than the most suitable of candidates.

Several years on, Focusmed24 is now established on the supplier list to the NHS, having recently been awarded a place on the HealthTrust Europe Framework for the supply of Nursing & Care Staffing. Only a selected number agencies have been awarded this status, and the fact that we have been awarded this contract solidifies our position as one of the UK’s leading healthcare recruitment agencies.

We are on the Welsh Framework to provide healthcare workers to any of the NHS hospitals throughout Wales.

Allied to this, preferred supplier status within the private sector has also been awarded by: Nuffield Health, Spire Healthcare, Four Seasons and Ramsay Health.

This status allows access to the most sought after temporary healthcare positions across England and Wales, and ensures that candidates find their ideal working environment.

We have signed up to the UK Code of Practice and adhere to the principles of ethical recruitment for healthcare professionals.

She has an extensive knowledge base gained from various business sectors which includes training and education, where it was her responsibility to audit worker/learner files in preparation for Government audits. Experience which has undoubtedly helped Angela with her current role as a Registrations and Compliance Officer for the Theatres team.

Angie’s hobbies include reading and reviewing books for her website, planning her next holiday – preferably Florida, which is her “favourite destination of all time”. She also collects Yankee and Village Candles, and enjoys family time in the garden (weather permitting) with a glass of Malibu & Coke.

Danielle Roberts
Recruitment Consultant

Danielle is currently our Recruitment Consultant. She joined Focusmed24 in May 2018 with previous success in recruiting for the healthcare sector.

She graduated from the University of Derby in 2018 and is currently studying a part-time Masters in Strategic Management.

In her spare time Danielle likes to travel, as well as attend music festivals both in the UK and overseas.

She will otherwise be watching Stoke City play, with her being a season ticket holder for the past 10 years.

Katie Jones
Finance Manager

Katie has been with Focusmed24 since 2009, and has always been actively involved in the development and success of the business to where it is today. Her career started after graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1998 with a degree in Business Administration.

After working as an Accounts Assistant in food production, Katie moved into Human Resources within an FMCG business as an Employee Liaison Officer and then into Industrial and Commercial recruitment. Katie had a few years away from work to raise a family. During this time she kept her hand in with a few voluntary jobs and a little self-employment.

Katie balances her work with trying to keep two teenage boys in line, running, cycling, travelling and spending her time eating, thinking or talking about food.

Mike Rodgers
Director

Mike set up the company in 2008. He originally qualified as an Operating Department Assistant at Leighton Hospital, Crewe in 1987. After a brief full time post in the NHS, he soon decided to sign up for one of the very few locum agencies around at that time.

He remained working for a number of agencies for almost twenty years, covering a variety of scrub, anaesthetic and recovery placements at numerous hospitals around England and Wales. This time as a locum theatre practitioner was only briefly interrupted when Mike took a full time post as Theatre Manager at a busy Manchester private hospital.

He has an unrivalled knowledge of the operating theatre environment, and therefore understands exactly which staff are required when requested for a one off shift or long term booking alike.

Sion Jones
Director

Founder and co director of Focusmed24, Sion first started his nursing career in 2003 after graduating from the University of Wales, Bangor. Opting for theatres, he spent his first two years working for the NHS as an orthopaedic scrub nurse. With some valuable experience under his belt he signed up for a few locum agencies, covering shifts and placements all over England and Wales.

His time spent working for these agencies made him realise that the industry was missing a truly informed and professional service. A service that would rely on extensive and very relevant clinical knowledge, not just cold calls and high pressure sales! Therefore in 2008, alongside co director Mike Rodgers, the Focusmed24 journey began.

He has a passion for cars and skydiving, although family life is currently more people carrier and school runs rather than two-seater sports cars and extreme sports!

Teri-Marie Smith
Junior Recruiter and Compliance Officer

Teri-Marie joined Focusmed24 at the end of 2016. She joined as a Level 3 Apprentice and has now progressed and excelled in her role.

After completing her apprenticeship, Teri fully manages the compliance of our workers and is now training in Recruitment.

Away from the office, Teri-Marie has a passion for music, played loudly on the car radio, at live concerts or at one of the many festivals she attends over the summer months.

She’ll otherwise be found keeping fit and healthy down at the local gym, or out with her local running club.

Victoria Dale
Recruitment & Performance Manager

Victoria joined the FocusmedTheatres team in 2016. Her keen interest in assisting others to develop their career and education, meant that she was the ideal person to take charge of new candidate interviews and annual appraisals.

During her career as an Operating Theatre Practitioner she has worked in numerous hospitals, enjoying exposure to a wide range of surgical specialities in anaesthetics, scrub and recovery. She currently works in acute theatres within a large university teaching hospital, as the Theatre Lead for anaesthetics and recovery.

In 2007 she also completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Practice, achieving a first class and receiving an academic prize for her dissertation. In 2012, Victoria also attained a Post Graduate Certificate in teaching and learning in clinical practice, at Masters level.
